Chris Bodenstein, BA, LLB, GDipLegPrac, was admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland and the High Court of Australia in 1998, and the Supreme Court of England and Wales in 2001.

Chris first practised in Brisbane before moving to London where he worked for a specialist insurance practice that services the Lloyd's insurance market and large multinational insurers.

Chris joined HBM in 2006, bringing with him extensive experience in a broad range of insurance litigation fields, including public and product liability, professional indemnity, marine, aviation, workers' compensation and industrial advisory work.

He joined the HBM partnership in 2010.

Chris is involved in and has the conduct of significant multi-jurisdictional litigations and international claims management projects and has given advice on policy drafting and wording. As well as acting for Australian insurers and intermediaries, Chris continues his association with UK and European clients and receives instructions from insurers and legal networks through panel appointments.

Chris has lectured on insurance law and presents seminars to insurers, brokers and agents.

He speaks fluent German and is recognised as an accredited German translator by the National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters.
