Jennifer McKain, BA, LLB (Hons), GDipLegPrac, is admitted as a solicitor to the Supreme Court of Queensland and the High Court of Australia.
Since her admission in 2009, Jennifer has practised exclusively in insurance litigation and currently practices predominately in the area of public liability.
Before joining HBM Lawyers in 2012, Jennifer advised large self insurers on all aspects of claims under the Workers’ Compensation and Rehabilitation Act 2003 (Qld) and advised insurers and corporate clients in relation to public liability claims under the Personal Injuries Proceedings Act 2002 (Qld) and the Civil Liability Act and Regulations 2003 (Qld).
Jennifer has acted for statutory and commercial insurers and self insureds across a wide variety of liability claims in the workers’ compensation and public liability fields.
She has experience defending claims involving local government authorities, shopping centres, owners and occupiers of residential and commercial premises, and labour hire matters involving WorkCover.
Jennifer provides detailed advice on all aspects of claims, including policy coverage, contractual indemnity issues, liability and quantum.
She is a member of the Australian Insurance Law Association, Women in Insurance (Queensland) Inc and a former committee member of Queensland Young Lawyers.
